After the whistle to end the last Champions League final, Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry held hands in the middle of the field and looked up at Da Luz. They savour the sweet taste of Bayern’s victory. Above all, this close friend reminisces about the past, of their childhood days at the Stuttgart youth academy, but now a champion at the top of glory. It was worth it for them to hold hands and lie side by side in the middle of the pitch to enjoy such wonderful feelings.

Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry are 25 years old, both from the Stuttgart academy. They are considered the most outstanding young talent in this club. Kimmich and Gnabry soon became friends and were seen as a pair of matches in the Stuttgart youth teams, both on the field and in real life, but to both hold hands and raise their eyes to the sky, Da Luz enjoys the glory in the final. The recent Champions League, they have had to go through many ups and downs, many turns, even angry at each other.

Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry from Stuttgart youth academy chose two different paths in their start-up days. Due to playing on the attack and possessing speed and power, Gnabry is somewhat more prominent than Kimmich. After that, he was pursued by a number of major European clubs. As a result, Gnabry soon followed the hall of fame, when he left the Stuttgart training station to join the famous and wealthy English team Arsenal in 2012, at the age of 17. Because of Gnabry’s hasty and materialistic decision made Kimmich angry. Their friendship was not only distant but also fractured.

All of Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry in the future, Kimmich also left Stuttgart, just a year later than Gnabry, which means in the summer of 2013. But the other thing is that he still stayed in Germany, at the same time he did not go to any prestigious club, but just RB Leipzig – the team Young and even playing in the Third Division then.

Although starting later and in a much worse position than Gnabry, Kimmich’s career flourished more strongly and smoothly. After only two years playing for Leipzig in the German lower divisions, this versatile star was recruited by the big Bayern man. Since then, Kimmich’s talent has grown rapidly, soon taking the main kick at the Allianz Arena, now becoming the leading pillar in the number one team in Germany after 5 years of playing.

Meanwhile, Gnabry arrived at Arsenal after leaving Stuttgart, but could not develop. His career in England turned into a nightmare. Not only was he not acknowledged by Arsenal, but he was also judged by West Brom not to be qualified enough to play in the Premier League. However, all was wrong. Gnabry’s talent is great, just because he came to the Premier League when he was too young, under so much pressure, he could not develop. As soon as he returned to Germany to join Bremen, this winger gave his release and was soon recruited by Bayern.

If Gnabry did not have the ambition to move to Arsenal early but stayed in Germany to take his first slow steps, his career would be as quick as Kimmich. Just as the friendship between Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry will not be broken for many years. However, Gnabry has made efforts to correct the mistake, partly catch up with his best friend Kimmich, especially holding hands together to step to the top of glory at Da Luz recently. So magical!
