Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at C1 made coach Frank Lampard determined to eliminate many unsatisfactory players in the squad.
Chelsea lost 0-3 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the 1/8 C1. Their chances of going forward are very small because this failure shows not only the lack of level and experience of the Chelsea squad compared to Bayern but also the performance of the players who are believed to be more reliable.
The Daily Mail recently said coach Frank Lampard had a meeting with several members of Chelsea’s board of directors to discuss the recent defeat and he expressed dissatisfaction with many of the staff at this team. Lampard can accept the immaturity of the young players he values because they need real experience to develop, but players who are at the maturity of their career cannot be forgiven.
The source said the goalkeeper Kepa will certainly be “dealt” first by Lampard due to his down-season form and a somewhat arrogant attitude, which has made him pushed to the bench recently. Lampard is not planning to hand over the position of old goalkeeper Willy Caballero, who wants Ajax’s Andre Onana but the Dutch team has not responded.
In addition to Kepa, two midfielders Ross Barkley and Jorginho as well as two full-backs Marcos Alonso & Emerson will have difficulty staying at Stamford Bridge. Barkley has not been in good form at Chelsea since joining the club, while Jorginho has offended Lampard after receiving a silly yellow card that made him suspended in the second leg. Alonso and Emerson could no longer be relied as left-back and have been exposed to problems since Maurizio Sarri’s coach.
The remaining three players considered by way of Lampard are Kurt Zouma, Willian and Pedro. Both Willian and Pedro are both antique and not in a good shape to deserve beginning or a settlement extension while Lampard has younger alternatives like Mount, Hudson-Odoi or Pulisic. Zouma is unlikely to be sold because Lampard prefers to use him in a remote attack role, but the defender has a lot of personal errors.
Chelsea before this season of C1 were banned from transferring and they also had to sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid when the Belgian superstar no longer wanted to stick. Lampard has helped Chelsea to a good performance in the first half of C1 season to take the top 4, but he will certainly strengthen the force this summer to remove the remnants of the Sarri or even Antonio Conte.
Chelsea actually began to do that. They have announced the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and are targeting Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell. That’s not to mention the rumors that “The Blues” could hunt down an attacking megastar of the same length as Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
